Quality is a process, not an inspection at the end
Rejecting a bad container in Shenzhen is expensive but survivable. Receiving it at Felixstowe is not. Everything we do is arranged to catch problems while they are still cheap to fix — which usually means before production starts.
The controls we apply
- Supplier qualification. New factories are assessed for capability, tooling, quality systems and export history before they are used. Approvals are re-checked periodically.
- Written specification. Every enquiry is converted into a controlled specification, so every supplier is quoting against the same document.
- Approved sample. Production is released only after you have approved a physical sample. The sample, not the drawing, is the reference.
- In-process checks. Key dimensions and materials verified during the run, not only at the end, so a deviation is caught before the whole batch is built.
- Pre-shipment inspection. An independent check against the approved sample, with quantity verification, function testing where relevant, and photographic evidence supplied to you.
- Container loading supervision. Loading photographed and checked, because most transit damage is caused during loading rather than at sea.
- Post-delivery follow-up. If something arrives wrong, we want to hear about it. Claims are processed against the evidence gathered before shipping.
Compliance and documentation
We work with UK importers who are placing goods on the UK market, so product compliance is part of the conversation rather than an afterthought. Depending on the product and its intended use, relevant requirements may include UKCA or CE marking, the UK/EU RoHS and REACH frameworks, General Product Safety Regulations, and sector-specific rules.
Where you need it, we assemble the supporting file: test reports, declarations of conformity, material certificates, RoHS statements, and batch or lot traceability back to the production run. We are clear about which documents are ours to supply and which must come from a third-party test house — and we will not invent a certificate.
Records you receive
As standard, on shipment you receive the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, inspection report with photographs, and details of the factory that produced the goods. Material or conformity certificates are supplied where ordered and available.
Manufactured under UK control and UK liability
Parts designed and made in the UK are produced under our own quality procedures, inspected here before dispatch, and delivered against a UK contract. If a part is wrong, it is our problem to put right — not a conversation between you and a factory eight thousand miles away.
